Wang Lai Bakery, established in 1968, has been a popular confectionary booth located in Chinatown that specialises in traditional Chinese goodies. If you are an avid Chinatown go-er every Chinese New Year, you will surely have come across our humble booth. What started off as a hobby of making CNY Goodies for friends and relatives, Wang Lai Bakery has come a long way to where it is today.
Preserving a traditional recipe passed down for 4 generations in the family, extraordinary efforts have been taken to constantly tweak and improve the family recipes to be as close as possible to perfection. Each goodie is lovingly handcrafted and plenty of attention is given to every single detail of its construction. Absolutely no shortcuts were taken in the process especially with the use of machines to maintain the goodies’ true authentic flavour, that is our ultimate mission.
Chinese New Year is a season to be celebrated and enjoyed by each and every single one of us, that is why we believe in fair prices made affordable for all. We understand that many businesses take this opportunity to spike their prices in order to enjoy a bigger profit, but not at Wang Lai Bakery.
Using only premium quality ingredients and mostly made from scratch, one may ask how do we then keep our prices affordable. It’s simple, we do not prioritise profits. Although homemade and handmade CNY Goodies require large amounts of effort and at the same time affect scalability, we always still stick to our mission of not taking shortcuts and mass-producing any of our goodies. Our goodies can be kept for up to 6 weeks from receiving but we recommend for them to be best consumed in 4 weeks.
Due to hygiene and safety purposes, all items sold are non-refundable/ non-exchangeable. If the items received are damaged, please do not open and contact us via Whatsapp at +65 8818 6227 within 24 hours so we can do a 1-to-1 exchange. If there is a need for a refund, do note that there will be a 5% service charged to be incurred.
